RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The government continues to distribute digital televisions, also known as Interactive Flat Panels (IFP), to schools across Indonesia as part of its education digitalization drive.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the government had distributed 280,000 digital TV units to schools nationwide as of 2025.
“We have provided digital TVs for classroom learning for students. As of 2025, 280,000 TVs have been distributed to 280,000 schools,” Teddy said during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday, February 27, 2026.
The digital TVs serve as learning tools for students and teachers and form part of the Digital Learning for a Smart Indonesia program. The initiative aims to make it easier for teachers and students, particularly in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions, known as 3T areas, to access digital-based education.
The government plans to increase the number of digital TVs distributed each year. “This year, the number will be increased,” Teddy added.
Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto said most schools across the country had received interactive panels. He expressed hope that the program would make learning more effective and broaden students’ access to knowledge.
“Seventy-five percent of all schools across Indonesia have received interactive panels. We hope these panels will help students nationwide learn better and gain access to all knowledge and materials they need,” Prabowo said during the launch of the Digital Learning for a Smart Indonesia program at state-run junior high school SMP Negeri 4 Bekasi in West Java on November 17, 2025.
Meanwhile, Elementary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti said the government would monitor schools after they receive the digital TVs. The program is designed to ensure every school gains access to quality technology-based education.
“We are conducting monitoring and evaluating schools that have received the IFP or digital panels,” Minister Abdul Mu’ti said. (Naura Sofia/Lasti Martina)
