RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, discussed plans to develop an interactive phinisi ship installation with Arief Susanto, Founder and CEO of Dus Duk Duk, and artist and content creator Erika Richardo.
The installation, titled Rasi Creativity, will engage artists, creators, and the public in various creative activities throughout 2026.
"We strongly support collaborations like this because they create opportunities for greater involvement of creative economy practitioners. It not only presents compelling works but also creates a collaborative space that impacts creators and the public," said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy during a meeting at Autograph Tower, Jakarta on Thursday, 18 June 2026.
During the meeting, Arief Susanto and Erika Richardo explained the concept of Rasi Creativity, a 1:1 scale phinisi ship installation designed to be immersive and interactive.
According to a release received by Voice of Indonesia on Thursday, 18 June 2026 that the program, which is planned to take place from 14 August 2026 to 5 September 2026 at Pacific Place Mall, Jakarta, is prepared as part of a series of events commemorating the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day by presenting workshops, live painting, and various educational activities that allow visitors to interact directly with the works while learning about the cultural values being promoted.
In addition to presenting a variety of creative activities, Irene also encouraged the program to involve more subsectors of the creative economy, from fine arts and crafts to local creators from various regions.
According to her, cross-subsector collaboration is a crucial step in expanding the impact of the creative economy while providing a richer and more inclusive experience for the community.
Dus Duk Duk Founder and CEO, Arief Susanto, stated that the concept was designed to provide a creative experience accessible to a wide range of people while also introducing the cultural richness of Indonesia through an interactive approach.
"Through this project, we want to provide an experience that is more accessible to the community. Not only enjoying the works, but also engaging with them, so that this creative space can become a meeting place for artists, creators, and the public," said Arief.
This collaboration is a continuation of Dus Duk Duk and Erika Richardo's 2025 work, which presented a 1:10 scale cardboard airplane installation with an Indonesian theme to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
The work received widespread public attention and was listed in the Indonesian Museum of Records. Continuing the spirit of celebrating independence through creative work, the two have now developed a pinisi ship installation that highlights Indonesia's rich maritime culture through a more interactive and participatory experience.
The Ministry of Creative Economy hopes this collaboration will serve as a meeting place for artists, creators, and the public to celebrate Indonesian creativity together.
Through a participatory approach, the creative installation not only provides an engaging experience for the public but also strengthens appreciation for Indonesia's rich culture in a way that is relevant to the younger generation.
