New Vice Finance Minister Juda Agung Pledges Closer Fiscal Monetary Synergy

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto, officially inaugurated Juda Agung as the Vice Minister of Finance in the Red and White Cabinet for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 5 February 2026. During the ceremony, the President administered the oath of office to Juda Agung as he joined the leadership of the Ministry of Finance.

Regarding his new responsibilities, Juda affirmed that the President highlighted the crucial importance of synergy between fiscal and monetary policies to accelerate national economic growth. Speaking shortly after the inauguration, he discussed his new mandate and revealed that President Prabowo is prioritizing cross-sector policy coordination.

“The President's main point was that to boost economic growth and achieve the government's planned programs, coordination between fiscal and monetary policies is essential. Of course, policies in the real sector are also necessary to ensure our efforts to drive future economic growth are effective,” he stated.

According to him, strengthening the relationship between monetary and fiscal policy is now a top priority. Juda Agung believes that his personal experience at Bank Indonesia will facilitate this coordination.

He stated, “My extensive experience at Bank Indonesia, followed by my transition to the fiscal authority, will certainly lead to better synergy. This is similar to Mr. Thomas, who moved from the fiscal authority to the monetary authority. The synergy between these two policies will be stronger than if each official had remained within a single authority.”

Following his inauguration to replace Thomas Djiwandono, Juda Agung stated that he would meet with the President again on the 6th to discuss the specific details of his duties.

The appointment of Juda Agung as Vice Minister of Finance was finalized under Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3/M of 2026, concerning the Appointment of Vice Ministers of Finance for the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024–2029 term. The decree was read by Nanik Purwanti, Deputy for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of the State Secretariat.
