RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded that the manufacturing industry grew by 5.40 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025 (Q4-2025). 

Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, said that this growth was driven by the food and beverage, basic metals, and chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

“The growth of the manufacturing sector was primarily supported by increased demand, both domestically and internationally,” said Amalia on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

The wholesale and retail trade sector, including car and motorcycle repairs, grew by 6.07 percent. This growth was consistent with the increase in domestic production, particularly agricultural and manufacturing products.

Meanwhile, the information and communication sector grew by 8.09 percent, driven by increased data traffic and digital transactions. The agricultural sector also rose by 5.14 percent, driven by higher domestic demand.

Amalia noted that several sectors recorded high growth, including transportation and warehousing, which grew by 8.98 percent. Then the information and communication sector grew by 8.09 percent, and financial services by 7.92 percent.

In terms of exports, goods and services grew by 3.25 percent year-on-year (yoy). This increase was driven by exports of non-oil and gas commodities, including vegetable oil, iron and steel, electrical machinery and equipment, and vehicles.

“The increase in foreign tourist visits also boosted the growth of service exports,” said Amalia. Foreign tourists increased to 15.38 million throughout 2025. 

Meanwhile, in the business sector, the five industries with the largest contributions to GDP in Q4-2025 were manufacturing (19.20 percent) and trade (13.24 percent).
