RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Minister of Transmigration M Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara presented the achievements of the 5T transmigration transformation program, which has been successfully implemented nationwide.
The 5T program is a comprehensive initiative designed to modernize Indonesia’s transmigration policy.
It consists of five pillars: Transmigrasi Tuntas (Transmigration Completion), which provides legal certainty over land ownership in transmigration areas; Transmigrasi Patriot (Transmigration Patriot), which mobilizes researchers and academics to map the economic potential of transmigration regions; Transmigrasi Lokal (Local Transmigration), which grants local residents the same rights as transmigrants without requiring relocation; Transmigrasi Gotong Royong (Mutual Assistance Transmigration), which coordinates cross-ministerial efforts to build infrastructure and facilities in underdeveloped transmigration zones; and Transmigrasi Karya Nusa (Transmigration Works Project), which creates employment opportunities by linking transmigration areas with industrial projects.
Minister Iftitah delivered the statement during the 2026 Transmigration Transformation Implementation Coordination Meeting with Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono. He emphasized that transmigration is no longer limited to relocating populations; it now focuses on building new economic ecosystems across 154 transmigration areas.
“Transmigration is a strategy to encourage inclusive and sustainable economic growth, as instructed by President Prabowo Subianto. We have a mission to increase inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economic growth by more than 8 percent,” Minister Iftitah said at the Coordinating Ministry in Jakarta on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
He explained that the Transmigrasi Tuntas program has provided legal certainty over land in 154 transmigration areas. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and other stakeholders, the Ministry of Transmigration has issued land ownership certificates to transmigrants.
Land issues that had been neglected for decades are gradually being resolved. “This is in line with the motto ‘Tuntas Lahan Tuntas Harapan (Land Settled, Hope Settled),’” he said, adding that land certificates are not merely documents but provide legal certainty. “By 2025, more than 13,000 transmigrants will finally obtain owneship certificate (SHM),” he noted.
The Transmigration Patriot program aims to identify the potential of transmigration areas, enabling economic development and natural resource management to be adapted to each region. “This program is a collaboration between 24 national universities, 44 professors, 356 master’s and doctoral graduates, 846 bachelor’s graduates, and 754 students, with 400 research outputs,” Minister Iftitah said.
The Local Transmigration program focuses on providing justice and welfare to local communities to help them accept the government’s transmigration program. “Local communities already residing in transmigration areas can be granted rights as transmigrants without having to relocate. The relocation refers to their welfare in a broad sense, not only economically but also in their sense of justice and security,” he explained.
The Trans Gotong Royong program has been implemented through cross-ministerial and institutional collaboration, leveraging the State Budget. The program has successfully built infrastructure and supporting facilities in transmigration areas, particularly those that had not been developed.
The Transmigration Karya Nusa program has created job opportunities for transmigrant communities. Minister Iftitah cited the pilot project in the Melolo transmigration area in East Nusa Tenggara, which has provided employment at local sugar factories.
Coordinating Minister Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono praised the Ministry of Transmigration for its efforts to promote prosperity among transmigrant communities through the 5T program. He said the government will continue to prioritize regional development, especially in transmigration areas, under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
