RRI.CO.ID, BANTEN - Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi inaugurated Jatake Railway Station in Tangerang Regency, Banten on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The inauguration marks a new transport hub on the Tanah Abang–Rangkasbitung rail line.
According to the ministry's press release on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the station aims to support growing urban mobility in Serpong, BSD City, and surrounding areas. It responds to increasing demand for reliable public transportation in expanding metropolitan zones.
“Jatake Station was built to address growing mobility needs and increasing public transport demand,” said Minister Dudy. The minister delivered the statement during the official inauguration ceremony.
The station is expected to reduce passenger congestion at Rawabuntu and Cisauk stations. Jatake Station currently has service capacity for up to 20,000 passengers daily.
Construction was completed through collaboration among the government, state enterprises, local authorities, and private companies. The project applied a creative financing scheme without using the national state budget.
Funding involved cooperation between PT Kereta Api Indonesia and PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk. The minister expressed appreciation for stakeholders supporting an effective collaborative development model.
The inauguration aligns with the national policy of strengthening railways as the backbone of urban mobility. The government promotes shifts from private vehicles toward mass transportation to reduce congestion and emissions.
The station covers a total building area of 3,198 square meters. Facilities include three floors, integrated supporting areas, and adequate passenger platforms.
Train operations at Jatake Station feature five to ten-minute headways. A total of 192 daily train services will pass through the station.
