He made this statement during a working meeting with Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on "Post-Disaster Management in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra Provinces" in Jakarta on Tuesday, 27 January 2026.
"The Ministry of Transportation is committed to continuing to accelerate post-disaster transportation infrastructure management in Sumatra in a coordinated, measured, and sustainable manner. In this context, the Ministry of Transportation falls under the infrastructure category, mandated to repair, enhance, and rebuild transportation infrastructure and facilities.
"All steps we have taken are based on the Master Plan and Action Plan for Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, which are integrated across ministries and institutions. We sincerely hope for support, input, and oversight from the Leadership and Members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) so that the implementation of the emergency response, rehabilitation, and reconstruction can proceed optimally and provide tangible benefits to communities in the affected areas," the Minister of Transportation stated.
