RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Vice Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Donny Ermawan Taufanto, received an audience with the Vice Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Dyah Roro Esti in Jakarta, Tuesday, 27 January 2026. The meeting was a follow-up to the President of the Republic of Indonesia's working visit to Pakistan, specifically aimed at strengthening Indonesia's concrete support thru cross-ministerial cooperation.

This meeting is a collaboration of government synergy in supporting national strategic policies. This collaboration is aimed at mutually strengthening institutional roles and capacities, particularly in facing global challenges.

In addition, this meeting also highlighted the strengthening of human resource (HR) capacity within the Ministry of Trade. This effort is seen as important for improving the readiness of the apparatus in managing international cooperation, foreign trade, and supporting sustainable and competitive export policies.

In addition, this meeting also discussed efforts to increase Indonesia's agricultural product exports to Pakistan to an optimal value. This step is expected not only to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries but also to be a tangible form of Indonesia's contribution to supporting Pakistan's economic resilience and recovery through mutually beneficial trade routes.

The previous day, Vice Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti, visited the facilities of PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology in Jakarta. This visit is part of the government's efforts to deepen understanding of the national palm oil industry's readiness to meet global market demands.

During her visit, Dyah Roro, underscored the importance of a thorough understanding of the palm oil business process, the application of sustainability and traceability principles, certification systems, and the company's production standards to meet export needs, particularly those of Pakistan. According to him, these aspects are key to maintaining the competitiveness of Indonesian palm oil products amidst increasing global market demands.

The visit is a follow-up to the Minister of Trade's recent trip to Pakistan, including Indonesia's participation in “ The 8th Pakistan Edible Oil Conference (PEOC) 2026”. This forum serves as a platform to open discussions with industry players and relevant stakeholders regarding the opportunities and challenges of vegetable oil trade.
