RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Equestrian Sports Association (PORDASI) has outlined a series of strategic programs and decisions during its 2026 National Working Meeting (Rakernas), held in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on January 23–24.

The event brought together representatives from 23 provincial boards in person and four more online, marking a key moment for the future of equestrian sports in Indonesia.

“Rakernas is a working forum to design realistic programs, unify athlete development standards toward international achievement, and strengthen synergy between the central and regional levels," PORDASI Chairman Aryo Djojohadikusumo said in a written statement, as quoted by Antara.

"This reflects our theme: Concrete Action for Advancing Indonesia’s Equestrian Sports,” he added.

The meeting featured evaluations of 2025 achievements and the presentation of 2026 work plans from PORDASI’s commissions: Racing, Equestrian, Horseback Archery & Tent Pegging, Polo, and Horse Breeding, Health, and Registration.

PORDASI highlighted several milestones from 2025, including the Indonesian equestrian team winning two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the SEA Games in Thailand.

The Horseback Archery (HBA) team also secured second place globally at the IHAA World Championships, with two athletes breaking world records at the prestigious event.

Looking ahead, each commission introduced acceleration programs. The Breeding Commission announced the revival of the Indonesian Racehorse (KPI) program, supported by DNA testing for horses.

The Equestrian Commission plans to host 10 international competitions, seven in show jumping and three in dressage, while preparing athletes for the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

The Horseback Archery & Tent Pegging Commission introduced updated competition regulations aligned with international standards, emphasizing horse welfare. It is also preparing Indonesia’s Tent Pegging national team for the ITPF World Cup Qualifier in Jordan later this month.

Meanwhile, the Polo Commission will send athletes abroad for training matches to sharpen skills and experience, with schedules set both domestically and internationally.

The Breeding, Health, and Registration Commission is preparing to launch the Indonesian Horse Certificate (SKI), alongside training and certification programs for equestrian professionals. A Stable Rating program will also be introduced to standardize equestrian facilities nationwide.

To support these initiatives, PORDASI is finalizing its new headquarters, which will serve as a hub for information, training, and certification activities.

“Achievements do not happen by chance. They require careful planning, consistent training, capable human resources, and disciplined organization. Let us make Rakernas PORDASI 2026 a space for real work, not just an administrative routine, where we design concrete programs to advance and grow equestrian sports in Indonesia,” Aryo concluded. ***
