RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf has once again announced a fourth extension of the emergency response status for hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh. It is effective for seven days from 23 to 29 January 29, 2026. He delivered the decision during an online coordination meeting with all parties involved in Aceh on Thursday, 22 January 2026.

The governor stated that the extension was based on coordination results with the central government as well as a recommendation letter from the Minister of Home Affairs. According to him, the decision also took into account ongoing disaster response efforts and the geographic spread of affected communities.

“As the Governor of Aceh, I hereby declare the fourth extension of the emergency response status for hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh in 2026 for the next seven days, effective from January 23 until January 29, 2026,” Muzakir Manaf stated.

Furthermore, he outlined strategic measures for emergency handling and post-disaster recovery in Aceh, including emergency response actions, economic recovery, and preparations for rehabilitation and reconstruction.

“I instruct all SKPA (Aceh Regional Government Work Units) and urge all relevant stakeholders to strengthen coordination with the Disaster Recovery Task Force of ministries, institutions, and all parties involved in emergency response and the stability of post-disaster reconstruction,” he said.

The Governor also emphasized the importance of accelerating the distribution of logistics to isolated areas and prioritizing the search for victims who are still missing, with a target to complete the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (R3P) document no later than 2 February 2026.

“Fourth, immediate efforts must be made to restore the livelihoods of disaster-affected communities. The R3P document must be completed no later than February 2, 2026,” the Governor said.

To date, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recorded 561 fatalities and 91,703 displaced persons as a result of hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh. Governor Muzakir Manaf called for special attention to the most critical areas and expressed hope that all response and recovery processes would proceed smoothly, enabling affected communities to resume normal activities.
