Nusantara Rises as Indonesia’s Smart Government Hub

RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - Indonesia is steadily preparing its new capital, Nusantara, to function as a fully operational government hub for ministries and state institutions. The Vice President Special Staff, Tina Talisa, visited the Nusantara Core Government Area (KIPP) on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, to review the city’s readiness and infrastructure.

The visit follows directives from Vice President Gibran Rakabuming to accelerate the relocation of civil servants (ASN) to Nusantara. She affirmed that the initiative reflects the Vice President’s support for gradually establishing government operations in the new capital.

“The Vice President has strongly supported the process, encouraging the Secretariat of the Vice President to gradually operate from Nusantara,” Tina conveyed.

During the visit, the delegation inspected key strategic sites, including ministerial residences, the Vice President’s Palace, Nusantara City Hall, and glamping tourism areas. They also focused on the integration of clean energy systems and the city’s eco-tourism potential, highlighting Nusantara’s dual role as a functional government hub and a sustainable urban environment.

The inspection demonstrates Indonesia’s commitment to creating a modern, environmentally conscious, and operationally ready capital. The Nusantara Capital Authority continuously reinforcing infrastructure and the civil service ecosystem to ensure smooth relocation, while maintaining high standards of sustainability, smart city innovation, and adaptive governance.

The government prepares Nusantara not only as an administrative center, but also as a model for sustainable urban planning. Even, it signals to the international community its determination to balance efficient governance with environmental and social responsibility.
