RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: The Indonesian Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, presented Ministerial Advisory Decrees (SK) to several senior national figures in the fields of culture, history, literature, and museums. This is part of a plan to strengthen the strategic role of advisors in supporting the policy direction and programs of the Ministry of Culture.

The decrees were handed over at the Ministry of Culture building on Monday, January 19, 2026.

The following individuals were present to receive the Ministerial Advisory Decrees:

- Singgih Tri Sulistiyono (Ministerial Advisor for Historical Preservation and Maritime Cultural Development)

- Taufik Ismail (Ministerial Advisor for Strengthening and Developing Indonesian Literature)

- Putu Supadma Rudana (Ministerial Advisor for Strategic Development and Optimization of Museum Management)

- Batara Richard Hutagalung (Ministerial Advisor for Strengthening National Historical Literacy)

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon said that the Ministerial Advisory nomenclature includes senior figures with proven track records, scholarly authority, and extensive experience in their fields. He said that advisors are crucial to ensuring that cultural policies are grounded in scientific knowledge and national values.

"One of the main areas requiring the active involvement of advisors is the compilation of national history books. This program is aimed at presenting strong, comprehensive, and relevant historical narratives for the younger generation, while also strengthening their understanding of the nation's journey," said Fadli Zon, as quoted by the ministry official website.

This year, the Ministry of Culture aims to compile several significant history books, including those on the War of Independence (1945–1950) and the histories of Nusantara kingdoms, such as Majapahit, Srivijaya, and Samudera Pasai. These books are expected to serve as credible references and enrich national historical literacy.

The Minister of Culture said strengthening literature is a priority. The Minister's Advisor for Literature is expected to provide strategic insights to develop Indonesian literature, including through a program to translate literary works into foreign languages. "We're translating Indonesian literary books into English and welcome input from literary figures like Taufik Ismail."

He highlighted the importance of museums as spaces for education, historical narratives, and cultural expression. He noted the ministry's commitment to all types of museums.

The Minister of Culture says that museums preserve memory and expand public access to cultural heritage. He encourages all museums, even ones in sultanate and palace buildings, to join Indonesia's museum network.

Batara Richard Hutagalung said serving as the minister's advisor is an honor and a great responsibility. He believes this trust must be met with concrete contributions, particularly in strengthening national historical literacy.

"This is both a task and a burden. I must think carefully and provide sound advice to the Minister of Culture, especially regarding efforts to preserve and develop Indonesian history," he said.

"We're working together to open more museums in Indonesia and protect our ancestral heritage. We can advance our nation and state through culture, especially museums," he said.

Taufik Ismail hopes the Ministry of Culture will continue exploring and promoting Indonesia's rich and diverse cultural and literary expressions, including those that have been largely untouched.

"Our nation's cultural expressions are extraordinary. Hopefully, the Ministry of Culture can explore, cultivate, and introduce our cultural richness more widely," he said.

In addition to the advisors present, the Ministry of Culture will present ministerial advisory decrees to several figures, including Wardiman Djojonegoro, Noerhadi Magetsari, Anhar Gonggong, and Taufik Abdullah.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Culture expressed his appreciation for the figures' willingness to serve as Ministerial Advisors. He expressed his hope that the advisors would play an active role in directing the Ministry of Culture's various strategic programs, through providing advice, involvement in activities, and strengthening cross-sector coordination.

"I hope this support and advice will strengthen the Ministry of Culture's efforts to advance Indonesian culture," the minister concluded.
