Prabowo Instructs Rapid Evacuation of ATR Aircraft Victims

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi expressed deep concern and condolences over the ATR 42-500 aircraft disaster that crashed in the Mount Bulusaraung area, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi, Saturday 17 January 2026.

He explained that President Prabowo Subianto immediately instructed all levels to take swift action, especially in search efforts and accelerating evacuation.

"At that time, he immediately ordered the entire staff to conduct a search as soon as possible and, once the coordinates of where the aircraft had crashed were found, to evacuate it as quickly as possible," State Secretary stated in a press statement in Jakarta, Monday, 19 January 2026.

He also conveyed that the search and rescue process was swift thanks to cross-agency coordination, with National Search and Rescue Agency, the TNI, the police, and local government all working together under the coordination of the Regional Military Command, Regional Police, and the South Sulawesi Provincial Government.

Furthermore, the State Secretary explained that the government continues to monitor developments on the ground to ensure that all handling processes run optimally.

"Once again, we are also sad and we continue to monitor so that all processes are carried out as quickly as possible," he said.
