RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has deployed a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft to transport 240 students from the Politeknik Statistika STIS. The mission aims at accelerating data collection in disaster-affected areas across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The send-off ceremony for the students was conducted by the Head of Statistics Indonesia, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base on Thursday, 15 January 2026. The event was also attended by the Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, First Marshal Erwin Sugiandi.

The student deployment was carried out twice, firstly a total of 120 students were flown out on Wednesday, 14 January 2026, followed by other 120 students on Thursday, 15 January 2026 to their respective assignment areas.

In an official statement received by RRI VOI on Friday, 16 January 2026, the Head of BPS, Amalia, stated that the students are being deployed to Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra as part of the Accelerated Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction initiative. The mission is integrated with the 2026 Field Work Practice (PKL) program of Politeknik Statistika STIS.

"Their presence is expected to strengthen the provision of post-disaster data, which serves as the foundation for planning the rehabilitation and reconstruction of affected areas," Amalia conveyed.

Through this air transport support, the Indonesian Air Force reaffirms its commitment to supporting rapid post-disaster recovery through synergy between various ministries and government agencies. (Ahmad Faisal)
