KBRN, North Tapanuli: Dolok Nauli Village in North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, has been designated as one of the locations whose residents will receive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance for relocation and new housing construction.

North Tapanuli Regent Jonius Taripar Parsaoran Hutabarat personally showed the site to officials from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) and representatives of the Tzu Chi Foundation.

“I am here with a team from Jakarta and Medan, including officials from the PKP Ministry and the Tzu Chi Foundation,” Jonius said on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

He explained that he had previously spoken with PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait and the Tzu Chi Foundation. As a result, North Sumatra will receive 1,000 CSR housing units across four regencies and cities.

“North Tapanuli Regency is one of them. Today, Mr. Dwi from the PKP Ministry and Mr. Mujianto with his team from the Tzu Chi Foundation are visiting to assess the conditions,” he said.

Jonius confirmed that he had shown them the specific relocation sites and the disaster-affected areas. “That is the purpose of our visit. I would also like to express my gratitude on behalf of the people of North Tapanuli,” he added.

He noted that the relocation site has been prepared and expressed hope that construction would begin soon. “So that victims of the flash floods and landslides no longer have to live in tents,” he said.

Dwi Dadi, Special Staff to the PKP Ministry, confirmed that his team had already conducted a visit and was now returning with the Tzu Chi Foundation. The plan is to provide approximately 1,000 CSR housing units for North Sumatra.

“These 1,000 houses will cover four regencies and cities, and this needs to be implemented immediately. Since the funds are sourced through CSR, their utilization will certainly be easier,” Dwi explained.

He expressed hope that the initiative would provide the best solution and benefits for communities, especially those impacted by landslides and floods.

Regarding the exact allocation of aid per regency or city, Dwi said the data must first be reconciled. “So, I cannot give a precise confirmation yet. We need to match the data, and there must also be a commitment from the residents,” he noted.

He explained that residents must sign a commitment letter to occupy the homes built by the PKP Ministry and the Tzu Chi Foundation. “There must be a commitment letter to live there, for the time being,” he said.

Dwi emphasized that the main requirement is that residents must be directly affected by the disaster, or their homes must be damaged beyond repair and located in a designated red zone. (Annaila Azzahra/Lasti Martina)
