KBRN, Jakarta: Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) officially launched the RRI Awards 2025, in Jakarta, Tuesday (23/9/2025). The awards aim to recognize regional governments that have collaborated to strengthen public communication.

The program is designed to honour credible and accountable achievements that foster public trust. RRI emphasized that recognition must be earned through collaboration and coordination, not given instantly.

Currently, RRI operates 98 work units across Indonesia, including Type A, B, and C stations, as well as international broadcasting centers and production studios. These partnerships with local governments are expected to expand RRI’s role in delivering accurate and reliable information to the public.

As an independent and neutral public broadcaster, RRI carries the mandate of providing informative, educational, and entertaining content. The institution continues to prioritize credibility and public trust as its core values.

At the launch event, RRI Supervisory Board Chairman, Anwar Mujahid Adhy Trisnanto, reminded all stakeholders to uphold integrity in judging. He stressed that careful checks and re-checks are essential to ensure transparent and reliable results.

RRI President Director, I Hendrasmo, highlighted that the awards are also intended to strengthen RRI’s presence as a trusted news reference. He noted that cooperation between regional RRI stations and local stakeholders plays a crucial role in achieving this goal.

The RRI Awards 2025 will feature nine categories, reflecting the broadcaster’s functions and programs. These include Active News Contribution, Favorite Reader Content, Active Regional Publication of Asta Cita, Favorite Tourism Content, Favorite Education Content, Public Service Information, and Best Photojournalism.

To ensure fairness, RRI Director of Broadcasting and Production, Mistam, announced that advanced algorithms will be used to support the judging process. The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 20, 2025, with submissions open from September 23 to November 5.
