KBRN, Jakarta: Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) revealed that more than 100,000 recipients of social assistance (bansos) have been flagged as anomalies or deemed ineligible. Of these, aid has already been terminated for 55,000 individuals, while another 44,000 are currently undergoing deactivation.

“55,000 are no longer receiving aid. Now we’re processing the remaining 44,000 to be removed from the list,” Gus Ipul stated in a press release received by RRI on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

The ineligible recipients include civil servants (ASN), members of the military and police (TNI-Polri), doctors, lecturers, managers, executives, and employees of state-owned (BUMN) and region-owned enterprises (BUMD). According to data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), 27,932 BUMN employees were found to be receiving social aid.

To prevent misdirected distribution, the Ministry of Social Affairs is working closely with the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and other relevant agencies. This initiative is part of the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 4/2025 on the National Single Socioeconomic Data (DTSEN), which emphasizes data accuracy, regular updates, and inter-agency coordination.

Data updates are conducted every three months to reflect changes in population dynamics such as births, deaths, and relocations. The updated data is submitted to the BPS for validation before being used as the basis for aid distribution.

Misallocated aid will be redirected to individuals in deciles 1 through 4, covering the extremely poor, poor, and vulnerable groups. Gus Ipul encouraged the public to use the Cek Bansos app to report ineligible recipients or nominate new, deserving candidates. ***
