KBRN, Jakarta: Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), has announced that the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) 2025 will showcase major projects such as the Giant Sea Wall and high-speed rail to potential investors.

The event, organized by his ministry, will take place on June 11-12, 2025, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). Its goal is to discuss the latest infrastructure developments and attract investment to Indonesia.

"In this conference, we will prioritize several key projects, one of which is the Giant Sea Wall. It is indeed one of our major initiatives," AHY stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The ICI 2025 is a major event focused on advancing sustainable infrastructure solutions. It aims to bring together policymakers, business leaders, development partners, and financial institutions to discuss key infrastructure projects and investment opportunities.

The conference will feature over 20 sessions across five strategic pillars: environmental protection; basic urban services; logistics and connectivity; housing and regional development; and financing and regulation.

As one of the world's largest archipelagic nations, Indonesia is positioning itself as a pivotal player in global infrastructure development. Through ICI 2025, the country seeks to showcase its commitment to sustainable and future-ready urban expansion, aligning itself with international best practices while driving economic progress.

In addition to the Giant Sea Wall and high-speed rail, Minister AHY noted that Indonesia’s housing projects would also be highlighted, emphasizing mutually beneficial and sustainable business concepts.

"We aim to present investment opportunities with strong business potential, such as the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model in urban centers and new city developments. These projects integrate residential, business, and sustainable transportation needs," he explained.

He further explained that the conference will focus on five main issues: infrastructure development, revitalization, advancements in future community infrastructure, interregional connectivity, and investment strengthening.

He added that many infrastructure projects in Indonesia have drawn international investor interest, and this event is expected to provide clarity and confidence for investment prospects.

The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development hopes that the ICI 2025 will serve as a platform to showcase key priority projects that require attention and support. Beyond securing funding sources, the conference also aims to strengthen partnerships and collaborations in the infrastructure sector. ***
