KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes RI) has spoken out regarding the recent hacking of the PeduliLindungi website, which was redirected to an online gambling platform. The ministry clarified that it no longer manages the PeduliLindungi website.
The Ministry ensured that PeduliLindungi's operations and security oversight were transferred when it was upgraded to the SatuSehat application, which was officially launched and became fully operational in 2023.
“Since PeduliLindungi transitioned to SatuSehat in March 2023, all management, including security and website operations, has no longer been under the Ministry of Health but is now handled by another entity,” Aji Muhawarman, the Ministry Spokesperson, stated in a statement issued in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Aji further explained that the PeduliLindungi website is now managed by PT Telkom, with all its former features fully integrated into SatuSehat.
“We urge the public to be cautious about any website using the name ‘PeduliLindungi’ that requests personal data. The Ministry of Health now operates SatuSehat, not PeduliLindungi,” he stated.
PeduliLindungi was initially launched during the COVID-19 pandemic as a health tracking platform and an entry requirement for malls and office buildings to help curb the spread of the virus.
It played a vital role in enforcing health protocols and monitoring vaccinations, later being integrated into Indonesia’s national health data system.
News of the hacking of PeduliLindungi quickly circulated on social media, but recent reports indicate that the website has since returned to normal. ***
