RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy has officially launched its landmark Creative Acceleration Program (Akselerasi Kreatif / AKTIF Musik), an initiative designed to inject federal resources into regional music ecosystems and push local artists into the national mainstream.

The program marks a shift in how regional art is commercialized, ensuring that independent creators from far-flung provinces receive the same production value, promotional access, and distribution networks as mainstream artists based in the capital. As its maiden deployment, the program has landed in North Maluku to fully fund and produce high-concept music videos for two highly curated local icons: Alan Darmawan from Ternate and Bams Conoras, widely known as the President of Tidore.

The conceptual foundation of AKTIF Musik revolves around treating regional culture as a high-value commodity. By pairing local musicians with professional production houses, such as Ternate's homegrown studio Dodoku, the program blends traditional identities with competitive modern media standards.

The initiative is already yielding concrete outputs, with two major music videos locked for national release. Alan Darmawan's track Sambunyi Kuku, which frames local romance through a grounded visual lens, is scheduled to drop on Friday, May 29, 2026. This will be followed on Monday, June 1, 2026, by the President of Tidore’s epic Hikayat Moloku Kie Raha, a track that fuses hip-hop and modern production with traditional regional instruments to chronicle the historic unification of the four legendary kingdoms of Ternate, Tidore, Jailolo, and Bacan.

The strategic importance of anchoring national growth in regional talent was heavily emphasized by leadership during the program's rollout. Media Creativity Deputy Cecep Rukendi highlighted the ministry's long-term developmental goals for these artists.

"The AKTIF Music program demonstrates the Ministry of Creative Economy's commitment to strengthening the regional music ecosystem while simultaneously opening up wider access to promotion and distribution for local musicians. Through this facilitation, we hope that works from Ternate, Tidore, and North Maluku can reach a wider audience," Cecep Rukendi said on Thursday, May 21, 2026, as quoted on Ministry's official website.

In a separate briefing following a strategic meeting with North Maluku Governor Sherly Tjoanda, the Ministry's Director of Music, Mohammad Amin, reiterated that the ultimate goal of the program is to build a self-sustaining creative economy from the ground up.

"This kind of cross-sector collaboration is what we're creating, creating synergy between musicians from the region, local communities, and activists in other creative economy sub-sectors. It's not just about music, it's a way to build a sustainable creative ecosystem," Mohammad Amin explained.

To ensure the infrastructure outlasts the initial video shoots, the ministry has also established active community forums at historic landmarks like Ternate's Fort Orange, hosting policy talk shows and capacity-building workshops to help local indie musicians sustainably manage their intellectual property and expand their creative networks. ***
