RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto, reaffirmed the country's commitment to continuing its non-aligned foreign policy and prioritizing good relations with all countries. According to him, this principle is a legacy of the nation's founders and remains the foundation for navigating global geopolitical dynamics.

"We are aware, and I have proclaimed this since my inauguration, that Indonesia's current foreign policy is to be a good neighbor. Our policy is the policy of the good neighbor. We want to be a good neighbor," he said in his remarks at a meeting with the Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the State Palace in Jakarta.

President Prabowo explained that Indonesia continues to strive to strengthen friendly relations with neighboring countries through dialogue and reconciliation. He said he is trying to improve relations with all neighbors.

"I am trying to improve all relations with all our neighbors. I am striving for reconciliation. I am striving to provide an approach," he said, as quoted from the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat.

Furthermore, the president emphasized that Indonesia must continue to prioritize wisdom, patience, and resistance to provocation. He also emphasized that the principle of non-alignment enables Indonesia to maintain good relations with all strategic partners without favoring any particular power.

"Wherever I go, I emphasize that Indonesia is neutral. We respect all forces," he said.

Prabowo claimed Indonesia's consistency in pursuing this foreign policy has built trust in the international community. This, the President continued, is reflected in the acceptance of Indonesia by various parties, including the expectation that Indonesia can play a role in opening up dialogue in various regions.
