RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Ministry of Defense is expanding cooperation with Singapore not only through bilateral talks but also by strengthening people‑to‑people ties in the defense community.

Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and his Singaporean counterpart Chan Chun Sing met in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, to reaffirm collaboration across military training, technology development, and personnel exchanges.

Minister Sjafrie shared details of the meeting on his official Instagram account the following day.

"The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the closeness and strong foundation of defense cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Beyond the ministerial talks, both leaders attended the launch of the Indonesia‑Singapore Defense Alumni forum in Kuningan, South Jakarta. The initiative aims to connect defense professionals from both countries, fostering long‑term relationships that complement formal military cooperation.
