RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia and Singapore are set to deepen their bilateral partnership with the signing of 26 agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) during the annual meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in Jakarta on Monday, July 6, 2026.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya confirmed the agreements, noting that they span multiple sectors, including environmental cooperation and carbon trade collaboration.
PM Wong arrived in Jakarta on Sunday, welcomed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and senior cabinet officials, ahead of his scheduled meeting with President Prabowo, Antara reported.
Among the MoUs to be signed are initiatives on environmental protection, building on a framework agreement inked in Jakarta on June 29, 2026, between Indonesia’s Environment Minister Moh Jumhur Hidayat and Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and Environment Grace Fu.
That umbrella deal covers cooperation in areas such as circular economy development, waste management, pollution control, and climate change mitigation.
The two governments also plan to strengthen human resource capacity for the low-carbon economy through regular technical exchanges, joint research, and pilot projects on sustainability. Technology transfer between the two countries will be facilitated to accelerate innovation in environmental management.
The signing of 26 agreements underscores the growing momentum in Indonesia-Singapore relations, with both sides positioning collaboration on sustainability and green growth as a cornerstone of their partnership. ***
