RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Thailand's Minister of Defense, Adul Boonthumjaroen, paid an official visit to Indonesia's Ministry of Defense in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. He was warmly welcomed by Indonesia's Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.

Upon his arrival, Minister Adul was received with a military honor guard. He expressed his appreciation to Minister Sjafrie for the warm reception extended to him.

"Thank you for such a warm and gracious welcome. From the moment I arrived in Indonesia, I have felt the warmth and hospitality extended by the Government of Indonesia since my arrival yesterday," Minister Adul said.

The Thai Defense Minister also noted that defense relations between Indonesia and Thailand continue to move in a positive direction. He expressed confidence that the bilateral defense partnership would become even stronger following the meeting between the two defense ministers.

"This visit will further strengthen the close relationship between our two Ministries of Defense. As we know, our defense cooperation has been strong for many years, and through today's discussions, we hope to expand it even further," he said.

In addition, Minister Adul highlighted several areas of defense cooperation of both countries, including joint military exercises, military officer exchanges, and education and training programs.

"We will also discuss cooperation in the defense industry. Indonesia has made significant progress in this field, and we look forward to identifying areas where we can exchange expertise and strengthen collaboration for our mutual benefit," he added.

Furthermore, Minister Adul underscored that Thailand is committed not only to reinforcing defense cooperation with Indonesia, but also to enhancing collaboration with ASEAN member countries.
