RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to France has resulted in four landmark commercial agreements worth USD 3.5 billion. The high-value deals are expected to significantly strengthen bilateral ties and deepen economic cooperation between the two nations.

Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, confirmed that the agreements were finalized during the launch of the France-Indonesia High-Level Business Council on May 28, 2026.

“This forum is not only a platform for dialogue between business actors, but also a driving force to encourage investment, trade, and strategic cooperation that deliver real benefits for both countries,” Minister Rosan said in an official release on Saturday, May 30, as quoted by Antara.

The inauguration of the council was witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The forum brought together 30 top corporate executives and major industrial leaders from both Indonesia and France, representing a combined market capitalization of USD 1.3 trillion.

The council is jointly chaired by Antoine de Saint-Affrique, Chair of the France-Indonesia Business Council MEDEF International and Chief Executive Officer of Danone, and Anindya Bakrie, General Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

Minister Rosan emphasized that confidence among French business leaders toward Indonesia is rising, driven by the country’s growing reputation as an attractive investment hub.

“The French business community’s trust in Indonesia continues to grow. The agreements reached show that Indonesia is viewed as a strategic partner with long-term growth prospects and an increasingly competitive investment climate,” he said.

Looking ahead, the Indonesia-France Business Council has set ambitious targets, aiming to triple bilateral trade by 2035 through intensified collaboration between Kadin and MEDEF International.

Following the conclusion of his diplomatic and economic agenda in France, President Prabowo Subianto returned to Indonesia on Saturday, May 30.

His aircraft landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta, where he was welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita. ***
