Speaking in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Indonesian Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai emphasized that both countries share common values in upholding independence, mutual respect, and dialogue as tools to address global challenges.

During the celebration of Georgia’s Independence Day in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, Minister Pigai reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to promoting universal principles of human rights and constructive international cooperation.

“Indonesia reiterates its commitment to advancing universal values of human rights, tolerance, and social justice, while stressing the importance of constructive engagement and partnerships among nations,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

Minister Pigai noted that Indonesia-Georgia relations continue to grow and hold potential for expansion across strategic sectors such as trade, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Strengthening these exchanges, he added, is vital to broadening mutual understanding and cooperation, particularly in humanitarian issues and sustainable development.

He also praised the role of Georgia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Tornike Nozadze, in driving bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic and trade sectors.

Minister Pigai stressed that international collaboration is increasingly important amid complex global challenges, requiring partnerships built on inclusivity and respect for human rights.
