RRI.CO.ID, Makkah - Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj began finalizing Arafah facilities before the Hajj peak period. The inspection was conducted in Makkah on May 10, 2026. The Indonesian government inspected several maktabs managed by Syarikah Al Bait Guest or Dhuyuf Al-Bait. Director General of Hajj Services at the Ministry of Hajj, Ian Heriyawan, led the inspection directly.

The inspection ensured air conditioners, sanitation systems, and other supporting facilities operated properly before pilgrims arrived. Indonesian pilgrims will later perform the central Hajj ritual, wuquf, in the Arafah area.

The ministry also prepared several supporting facilities to improve pilgrims’ comfort during extreme desert temperatures. Each tent includes multiple air conditioners, new mattresses, pillows, blankets, and heat-reducing floor structures.

Additional facilities include nonstop CCTV monitoring, disability-friendly toilets, clinics, prayer rooms, and customer service stations. Outdoor urinal frames were also installed to reduce long queues during the Hajj peak.

Ian emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to protecting pilgrims and ensuring comfortable worship conditions during wuquf in Arafah. He also stressed continuous evaluations before pilgrims officially occupy the tents.

“We want to ensure all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims can enter the tents in Arafah and perform wuquf peacefully and solemnly. We must ensure continuous checks and rechecks until every pilgrim’s rights are fully fulfilled,” he said.

Ian also gave several notes regarding environmental cleanliness and unfinished tent partitions during the inspection. He requested all preparations be completed within five days before another inspection.

“We will recheck everything within the next five days, specifically on Thursday. Sector heads were also instructed to inspect locations directly and respond quickly to possible obstacles,” he added.
