RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s locally made Maung tactical vehicle became an unexpected star at the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines, drawing attention from delegates and residents alike.

Used by President Prabowo Subianto throughout the summit, the Maung stood out at official venues and quickly became one of the most talked-about symbols around the conference area. Delegates and locals observed the vehicle closely, impressed by its bold design and Indonesian craftsmanship.

With its rugged yet modern look, the Maung was seen as a representation of Indonesia’s advancing defense industry.

Cebu resident Yusail, who stopped to photograph the vehicle, described it as impressive. "I see this as an amazing vehicle," he said as quoted on the Presidential Secretariat's official website.

Another local, Alex, who posed for a selfie with the Maung, called it “classic and different from anything I’ve seen in the Philippines.”
