RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia responded swiftly to a bus accident involving its Hajj pilgrims in Madinah on Monday, April 28, 2026. The incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. Saudi time and involved Indonesian pilgrims from multiple groups.

Head of Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Indonesia, Moh. Hasan Afandi, said the accident involved pilgrims from two flight groups. The groups were identified as SUB-02 and JKS-01.

He reported that seven pilgrims from JKS-01 and two from SUB-02 sustained minor injuries. One official from a Hajj guidance group (KBIHU) was also injured in the incident.

“All affected pilgrims have received medical treatment and assistance from officers. One pilgrim, Sri Sugi Hartini (60), is still undergoing treatment at Al Hayyat Hospital in Madinah,” Moh. Hasan Afandi said.

The Ministry confirmed that all affected pilgrims are under close monitoring. Medical and logistical support continues to be provided throughout their recovery.

Hasan emphasized that assistance is being delivered continuously to ensure comfort and safety. Officers remain on standby to support pilgrims during the recovery process.

He also stressed the importance of coordination between KBIHU and official officers. He urged all parties to comply with regulations and prioritize pilgrim safety in every activity.

“We emphasize that there must be no activities outside the purpose of worship, no additional charges, and all activities must be coordinated with official officers. Violations will result in strict sanctions, including permit revocation,” he said.

The Indonesian government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safe, orderly, and well-managed Hajj services. It continues to prioritize protection and comfort for all Indonesian pilgrims.
