RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - Over thirty thousand Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have arrived in the Holy Land, Sunday, April 26, 2026. Airport authorities are strengthening services, especially for elderly pilgrims.

As of 18:00 local time, a total of 30,611 Indonesian pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia. They traveled in 78 organized flight groups as part of this year’s Hajj operations.

Among them, 6,172 are elderly pilgrims who require special attention during arrival services. This number has become a key focus for Indonesian Hajj authorities this year.

Hajj officers at the airport continue ensuring smooth and orderly arrival processes for all pilgrims. Services include reception, guidance, baggage handling, and transportation to designated areas.

Head of Airport Affairs, Abdul Basir, emphasized the importance of responsive services for elderly pilgrims. He said their large number requires more attentive and careful handling from officers.

“As of today, 30,611 pilgrims have arrived in the Holy Land through 78 flight groups. Of that number, 6,172 are elderly pilgrims. This figure is our concern, as airport services must be fully responsive to the condition of pilgrims who have just completed a long journey,” he said.

Abdul Basir also explained facilities prepared to support elderly pilgrims during the arrival process. He highlighted efforts to ensure comfort, safety, and proper assistance at all service points.

“We provide pampers for elderly pilgrims who need them, golf carts to assist mobility in the pavilion area, and wheelchair umbrellas in all terminals. This is part of our effort to ensure pilgrims, especially the elderly and wheelchair users, remain protected and receive special attention from the moment they arrive at the airport,” he said.

The Indonesian government continues strengthening coordination to improve services for arriving pilgrims. Authorities ensure services remain orderly, responsive, and friendly, especially for elderly groups.
