RRI.CO.ID. Jakarta - In an effort to find a way out of the conflict with the United States and Israel, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saint Petersburg.
In a previous interview posted by Iranian news agency IRNA, Minister Abbas Araghchi said his trip to Russia was related to the conflict of his country that is facing Israel and the United States.
He stated that the meeting was to consult with his Russian colleagues regarding the latest developments in the war with Israel and the United States. Araghchi said it was the American approach that “caused the delay in negotiations” that had been planned in Islamabad.
“Washington has made too many excessive demands, causing the negotiations to be delayed,” Abbas Araghchi said. News agency IRNA said Abbas Araghchi landed in St. Petersburg for his meeting with Vladimir Putin.
This meeting marks a new stage in Araghchi’s diplomatic tour regarding the war in the Middle East, following a missed opportunity to meet with the United States in Islamabad. Previously, Moscow had announced the arrival of the Iranian Foreign Minister in Russia through the TASS news agency. The arrival of Seyyed Abbas Araghchi was confirmed by Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov when asked by TASS reporters.
The arrival of the Iranian Foreign Minister further confirms an earlier statement by the Iranian Ambassador to Russia that Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi would meet with President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
