RRI.CO.ID, Madinah - Indonesian Hajj airport officers ensure precise baggage monitoring for arriving pilgrims at AMAA Airport. The activity took place at Drop Baggage Zone, Madinah, Friday, April 24, 2026.

Behind the relieved expressions of Indonesian pilgrims, there is careful and often unseen operational work. This includes strict baggage supervision as part of ensuring comfort upon arrival.

At the Drop Baggage Zone of AMAA Airport Madinah, officers carry out monitoring duties with high precision. Each of the three shifts assigns five baggage checkers to oversee all items thoroughly.

They monitor checked luggage, cabin bags, wheelchairs, and walking sticks used during the pilgrimage. These belongings are essential for supporting pilgrims’ needs throughout their stay in the Holy Land.

Head of Airport Working Area, Abdul Basir, stated that baggage supervision is a crucial service element. He further explained that every item directly relates to pilgrims’ daily needs during the Hajj process.

Regarding baggage monitoring carried out by Indonesian officers at the airport, he said that it reflects Indonesia’s commitment to ensuring safe and reliable Hajj services.

“Every pilgrim’s belongings must be carefully monitored, from large suitcases, cabin luggage, wheelchairs, to walking sticks. These items are essential needs that pilgrims will use during their time in the Holy Land,” he said.

Furthermore, officers face demanding conditions, including intense daytime heat, cold nights, strong winds, and frequent dusty environments. Despite these challenges, monitoring continues carefully to ensure all baggage remains accounted for.

If discrepancies in baggage numbers occur or items do not arrive, officers immediately report them to airlines. Close coordination ensures all baggage is delivered properly to each pilgrim’s hotel.
