Local Games Receive Positive Response from the World

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The local game KuloNiku: Bowl Up! has achieved positive results in the global market, achieving an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, based on over 500 user reviews. This achievement was achieved within five days of its launch on April 7, 2026.

This cooking simulation game is a collaboration between Gambir Studio from Sleman and international publisher Raw Fury from Sweden. This success also marks a new milestone, as it is the first game from Indonesia to be published by Raw Fury.

The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, expressed his appreciation for this achievement as proof of the competitiveness of national talent in the global industry.

"The success of KuloNiku: Bowl Up! demonstrates that the work of the nation's children can compete in the international market by emphasizing local cultural richness as a key strength. This is a clear example of how the creative economy can become a new engine of national economic growth," he said.

Developed by a local team, the game features elements of Indonesian culture, such as meatballs and the iconic chicken bowl, in an appealing way to reach a global market. All assets, from illustrations and 3D models to music and programming, were created by local talent.

Gambir Studio is a game developer based in Sleman, founded in 2016. This studio has previously successfully launched several culinary games on mobile platforms, such as Selera Nusantara and Warung Seblak Nusantara, which have been downloaded more than 10 million times.

In this game, users manage a legendary meatball restaurant in the fictional city of Kuloniku, face various culinary challenges, and compete against rival characters in cooking competitions.

According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday April 14, 2026, the features include recipe exploration, restaurant upgrades, and interactions with local characters. KuloNiku: Bowl Up! is available for PC and Mac via Steam for Rp104,999 with a 20 percent discount until April 21, 2026. The game has also been rated 3+ by the Indonesian Game Rating System (IGRS).
