RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The turmoil in the global energy market, which is still under pressure, is also affecting the stability of energy supply in many countries, including Indonesia. To maintain the resilience of the national energy supply, the government continues to seek strategic measures, one of which is exploring cooperation with Russia as one of the world's energy-producing countries.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, reaffirmed his commitment to overseeing energy diplomacy to maintain the stability of domestic energy supply.

He said that the meeting between the two heads of state was to discuss energy cooperation concretely and with a focus on national interests. The main focus of the cooperation includes efforts to ensure energy supply and encourage investment in the energy sector.

"This visit is an important momentum to ensure the national energy supply remains stable and to strengthen national energy resilience,"Bahlil said in Moscow, Russia, Monday, April 13, 2026.

The Minister also emphasized that the government will continue to oversee the implementation of various discussed cooperation opportunities to ensure they are realized promptly. This step includes the development of oil refineries, strengthening oil trade, and enhancing the utilization of energy technology.

"In the long term, Indonesia is also opening up collaboration opportunities in the clean energy sector. This is an effort aimed at supporting energy diversification," he said.

The existence of this cooperation is expected to have a positive impact on strengthening national energy resilience and supporting the economic stability of both countries amidst global dynamics.
