RRI.CO.ID, Seoul – The Indonesian government and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have officially agreed to an investment cooperation deal worth USD 10.2 billion, or approximately Rp 173 trillion. Coordinating Minister for Economic, Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, made the statement in a written press release on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Minister Airlangga stated, “During the meeting, MoUs worth USD10.2 billion, or approximately Rp173 trillion, were signed.”

He further explained that the ten MOUs between the two countries cover the development of future technologies and clean energy. Indonesia and the Republic of Korea are focused on strengthening the digital economy sector as well as the global healthcare industry.

The Coordinating Ministry explained that this collaboration also targets the mineral resources sector. The strengthening of this partnership aims to support high-tech-based economic transformation.

“Specifically, the cooperation includes the establishment of comprehensive and specialized strategic dialogues, the strengthening of Economic Cooperation 2.0, the development of critical mineral partnerships, as well as cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) for basic healthcare and human development. In addition, the cooperation also covers strengthening in the fields of clean energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and the offshore power generation services industry,” he said.

Earlier, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized the importance of good relations between the two countries. He expressed his deep appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the government of the Republic of Korea.

“For me, this first state visit is very important. I consider Korea a close friend of Indonesia, and I want to strengthen this cooperation,” Prabowo said.

The statement was delivered during the state visit at the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Korea, Cheong Wa Dae, in Seoul, on Wednesday, April 1, 2024. This visit also reaffirms Indonesia’s position as a strategic partner in the Indo-Pacific region.
