RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - An Indonesian student has demonstrated global competitiveness by winning a silver medal at an international STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) competition in Singapore, STEMCO Global Around 2026, held on March 28-29, 2026.
The event brought together students from countries including Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia. Zahra Aaliyah Belva Melano, a student at State Islamic Junior High School (MTsN) 32 South Jakarta, earned the Silver Award by showcasing her academic skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
“MTsN 32 Jakarta Selatan is committed to supporting and facilitating students to excel at both national and international levels,” School Principal Muhamad Faisal said on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, as quoted on the Religious Affairs Ministry official website.
He added that Zahra’s achievement reflects hard work, discipline, and the collaborative support of teachers and mentors.
The competition tested participants’ abilities to handle scientific experiments, case analyses, and innovative project presentations in front of an international panel of judges. Success in such events highlights the potential of madrasah students to compete in science and technology on a global stage.
