President Welcomed Chinese Representative to Opens up Security Cooperation

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto received the Chinese Minister of State Security Chen Yi Xin at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday, March 27, 2026.

Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation to safeguard regional security and stability. He noted that China expressed its intention to work with friendly nations to build cooperation aimed at maintaining and enhancing security in Asia and beyond.

President Prabowo welcomed the opportunity to deepen security cooperation with China, emphasizing that regional stability is vital to support sustainable economic growth. Teddy explained that the President reiterated Indonesia’s view on the importance of stability in advancing the country’s long-term development.

The Cabinet Secretary added that President Prabowo also welcomed the Ministry of State Security’s intention to expand cooperation, stressing that such efforts would benefit both nations.

President Prabowo was accompanied by Gen. (Ret.) M. Herindra, head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). The meeting also addressed future cooperation between China’s Ministry of State Security and BIN.

“Strengthening relations and cooperation between the MSS (Ministry of State Security) and BIN is part of President Prabowo’s foreign policy. The President envisions enhancing Indonesia’s national security amid evolving geopolitical dynamics,” Teddy said.
