RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian government and the Fujian Provincial Government of China have agreed to compile a list of potential projects and priority sectors to accelerate the implementation of the Two Countries Twin Parks (TCTP) cooperation program. This cooperation between industrial zones is aimed at expanding market access and significantly increasing bilateral investment and trade flows between the two countries.

This strategic move was discussed directly during a meeting between Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Fujian Provincial Vice Governor Zhao Zenglian in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The meeting emphasized the importance of realizing concrete projects oriented toward the needs of modern industries in Indonesia and China.

One of the main focuses of this investment acceleration is the development of the Batang Industropolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Central Java. “In accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive, the development of the Batang Industropolis SEZ, which was officially launched on March 20, 2025, as Indonesia’s version of Shenzhen, is expected to be realized soon. One way to achieve this is by accelerating the implementation of various concrete projects within the framework of the TCTP program,” Airlangga said.

To date, the TCTP partnership has resulted in 30 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between businesses and local governments, with an estimated investment value of Rp37.1 trillion ($2.28 billion). This achievement serves as a strong foundation for both countries to expand the scope of cooperation into new manufacturing sectors.

The Chinese delegation welcomed this commitment by offering practical steps to streamline coordination among stakeholders on the ground. “We are ready to work together with the Indonesian government to promote regional development under the TCTP program and are committed to identifying priority sectors with potential for joint development with Fujian Province,” Zhao stated.

To support the success of these projects, both parties are continuing to strengthen supporting ecosystems, such as customs facilities, logistics efficiency, and trade regulatory streamlining. The Indonesian government will subsequently incorporate all outcomes of this agreement into an official master plan to serve as a guideline for future investment implementation.

To conclude the business meeting, the Fujian Provincial Government officially invited Coordinating Minister Airlangga to attend an international investment exhibition. The Fujian delegation hopes that Indonesia will participate in the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), which will be held in Xiamen on September 8, 2026.
