President Prabowo Shares Eid Al-Fitr Greetings and Addresses Global Conflicts

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto held phone calls with several heads of state and government on Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, extending holiday greetings to leaders of Muslim-majority countries.

The leaders contacted included Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

In addition to exchanging greetings, President Prabowo discussed strategic issues with the leaders. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said he and President Prabowo exchanged views on the Iran-Israel conflict. Both countries agreed to call for peace.

“We both called for peace, and I informed President Prabowo that Malaysia will continue to support and strengthen diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the Iran-Israel conflict. This will allow tensions to be reduced, civilian lives to be protected, and meaningful negotiating space to lead to a peaceful and lasting solution,” PM Anwar said via his official X account on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Anwar added that he and President Prabowo agreed to arrange a bilateral meeting soon, including his proposal to visit Jakarta to strengthen ties.

According to a statement from the Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan, King Abdullah II and President Prabowo discussed the need for diplomatic efforts to resolve the Middle East conflict. “His Majesty King Abdullah II exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto by telephone. The conversation discussed the need to end Iran’s aggression against Arab countries, and to exercise restraint and use dialogue to resolve the crisis and defuse the current situation,” the statement said.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed Eid greetings. “I spoke with my brother, His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, to convey warm Eid greetings to him and all the brotherly Indonesian people,” Sharif said via his official X account.

He added that they exchanged views on the regional situation, particularly in Iran and the Gulf, and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and for resolving differences through dialogue and diplomacy.

Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Indonesia. “We reaffirmed our desire to further strengthen the historic and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, and to expand cooperation in all areas of mutual interest,” he said.
