RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is preparing to navigate the economic and security fallout from the intensifying conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, with President Prabowo Subianto affirming that the government will closely monitor geopolitical developments in the Middle East.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono said the President outlined the situation during a national dialogue at the Merdeka Palace on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, attended by former presidents and vice presidents, party leaders, and public figures.

“The situation ahead is expected to continue evolving, and we will see what unfolds,” Minister Sugiono said, as quoted by Antara, adding that Indonesia must be ready for all possible scenarios.

He explained that Indonesia has already engaged in communication with both Iran and the US, urging the parties to pursue a resolution at the negotiating table. “We will continue to observe developments in the Middle East over the coming days and weeks,” he said.

Minister Sugiono also confirmed direct talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which Tehran conveyed its position to Jakarta. At the same time, Indonesia expressed regret over the breakdown of negotiations that has fueled rising tensions.

“Indonesia emphasizes the importance of returning to dialogue. Equally vital are the principles of respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Minister Sugiono concluded. (Diffa Sephiawardhani/Sri Wahyuni)
