Indonesia Reiterates Full Support for Palestinian Independence

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia reaffirms its support for the struggle and independence of Palestine. This support is said to be rooted in the history of the Indonesian nation's struggle and constitution, as well as a commitment to supporting the Palestinian people's right to live freely and with dignity in their own homeland.

The Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, Ahmad Muzani, emphasized that Indonesia's stance on the Palestinian issue has never changed. He also said Indonesia's support for the struggle and independence of Palestine is rooted in the history of the Indonesian nation's struggle and the constitution.

"In the matter of Palestine, Indonesia's stance has never changed and has never shifted. Support for the struggle of Palestine and the independence of Palestine is rooted in the history of the nation's struggle and the constitution," Ahmad Muzani said in Jakarta, Friday, August 14, 2026.

He said that the Indonesian nation has experienced the bitterness of colonization and war firsthand. Therefore, Indonesia cannot remain silent while other nations still live under occupation. He affirmed that Indonesia supports the right of the Palestinian people to determine their own future.

"We support the right of the Palestinian people to be free, sovereign, and live with dignity in their own homeland. The people and nation of Indonesia will continue to stand with the Palestinian people," he said.

In his speech, Muzani also called for an end to the war in the Middle East and other parts of the world. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing diplomacy as a way to resolve differences between countries and achieve peace.

In addition to discussing Palestine, Muzani expressed condolences on the passing of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the Emir of Qatar, Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He also expressed sympathy to the people and governments of both friendly countries.
