Indonesia Monitors Citizens in Iran After Strike

RRI.CO.ID, Tehran – The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Iran and Turkmenistan, Rolliansyah Soemirat, stated that the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran continues to maintain two-way communication with all Indonesian citizens living in Iran. This follows the attack in Tehran, which was reportedly carried out by Israel and the United States.
In a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, 28 February 2026, Rolliansyah said that at least 329 Indonesian citizens have registered with the Embassy. These individuals are officially recorded and monitored by the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran.
“The current focus of the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran is to continue two-way communication with all Indonesian citizens in Iran, across all cities,” Rolliansyah said.
He explained that such communication is essential to provide an accurate assessment and deliver necessary assistance and protection to Indonesian citizens. He added that as of 2:30 p.m. Iran time, all Indonesian community representatives contacted by the Embassy in various cities reported no direct threats.
“As of around 2:30 p.m. Iran time, all Indonesian community representatives we contacted in various cities across Iran conveyed that they have not experienced or felt any direct threats,” Rolliansyah said.
Nevertheless, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran continues to urge Indonesian citizens to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of themselves and their families. Rolliansyah added that the Embassy will continue conducting security assessments in Iran in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta.
He said further updates will be provided periodically through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly by its spokesperson.
