Iran Embassy Issues Statement on Attacks

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jakarta has called on the Government and people of Indonesia to firmly and openly condemn what it described as acts of war and aggression against the territory of Iran. The appeal was conveyed in a written statement received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

In the statement, the Iranian Embassy stated that the attacks were allegedly carried out by the United States and Israel. It stated that several civilian sites and vital infrastructure in Tehran and a number of other cities were targeted.

The embassy described the attacks as acts of aggression that violated Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty and contravened Article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations (UN).

“The attack by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran constitutes a violation of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter and represents a clear act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the statement said.

According to the embassy, responding to such aggression is Iran’s legitimate and lawful right under Article 51 of the UN Charter. It stated that Iran’s Armed Forces would exercise that right to defend the country’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

In addition, Iran emphasized the responsibility of the UN Security Council to immediately take action in response to the breach of international peace and security resulting from the alleged aggression. Iran also called on the President and members of the UN Security Council to take prompt steps regarding the situation.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran underscores the responsibility of the UN Security Council to take immediate action in addressing the violation of international peace and security caused by the blatant aggression of the Zionist regime against Iran,” the statement said.

The Iranian Embassy also called on political leaders, religious and Islamic organizations, academicians and media figures in Indonesia to take a clear stance and condemn the aggression against Iran’s territory.
