RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia strongly condemned remarks by the United States Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, who stated that Israel’s occupation of the West Bank is an acceptable step. The condemnation was conveyed through a joint statement issued on Sunday together with the foreign ministries of Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine, as well as the secretariats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

“Expressing strong condemnation and deep concern over the statement by the United States Ambassador to Israel indicating that Israel’s actions to take control of territories belonging to Arab states, including the occupied West Bank, would be acceptable,” the joint statement said.

The Islamic countries also affirmed their rejection of remarks deemed dangerous and provocative, which constitutes a clear violation of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and pose a serious threat to regional security and stability. Arab and Muslim countries stressed that the U.S. ambassador’s statement supporting Israel’s occupation contradicts the vision put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump as well as the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.

“The plan is based on strengthening tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and statements that seek to legitimize control over the land of others undermine these objectives, fuel tensions, and constitute incitement rather than advancing peace,” the statement added.

Reiterating their firm rejection of any attempts to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, Arab and Muslim countries firmly denounced the expansion of settlement activities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and categorically rejected any threats to the sovereignty of Arab states.

“Israel has no sovereignty whatsoever over the Occupied Palestinian Territory or any other occupied Arab lands,” they stressed.

The ministries further warned that the continuation of Israel’s settlement expansion policies and unlawful measures will only exacerbate violence and conflict in the region and undermine prospects for peace, and called for an end to such inciting statements. They also reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, the establishment of an independent state along the 4 June 1967 lines, and the end of the occupation of all Arab territories.
