The two students secured the award in the Favorite Poster category for Food and Technology, marking another international achievement for madrasah students from Riau Province. Their success highlights the growing global competitiveness of Islamic senior high school students from Indonesia.
Head of the Riau Regional Office of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, Muliardi, expressed appreciation for the accomplishment. “This achievement shows that madrasah students not only excel in religious studies, but are also capable of innovating and competing internationally in science, technology, and food security,” he said in Riau Sunday 15 February 2026.
Muliardi added that the success should serve as motivation for all madrasah students in Riau Province to continue developing their potential and creativity. He stressed that the vision of “Madrasah Hebat, Bermartabat” must be realized through tangible achievements such as those demonstrated by the students of MAN 1 Indragiri Hilir.
Nayla competed in the Food category, presenting an innovation titled “Green Food RIAU-SAGUPERFOOD: Functional Sago-Spirulina-Moringa Noodles as an Invention for Global Food Security.” The project promotes Riau’s local sago-based resources combined with spirulina and moringa as a functional food solution to support global food security.
Meanwhile, Reza participated in the Technology category with a project entitled “Classification of Images of Pure and Adulterated Pertalite Fuel Using MobileNetV2 and HSV Color Space Transformation.” The innovation applies artificial intelligence to digitally and accurately classify the quality of Pertalite fuel.
