Indonesia Selected to Host Crown of Japan 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia has been selected as the host of The Crown of Japan Grand Final 2026, a national Japanese pageantry event that will be held outside Japan for the first time. The event is scheduled to take place in Jakarta, from 5 to 8 February 2026.

Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, Maria Renata Hutagalung, stated that hosting the event in Indonesia is expected to serve as a platform to strengthen Indonesia-Japan relations, particularly at the level of people-to-people relations.

According to her, the Japanese finalists are expected to act as ambassadors for promoting Indonesia while also encouraging closer friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries.

“By holding the event in Indonesia, the Japanese finalists are expected to play a role as ‘ambassadors’ for promoting Indonesia, enhancing friendship between the two societies, and strengthening mutual understanding,” Renata said in an official statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo on Friday, 6 February 2026.

She added that Indonesia’s selection as host also reflects the country’s openness in building international partnerships and signals the high level of trust held by the Japanese public in Indonesia, both in terms of security and the comfort of organizing events on a regional and international scale.

In addition, the event is expected to support the development of Indonesia’s fashion industry and creative economy so they become better known in the global market.

Meanwhile, Founder and CEO of JBA Inc. as well as National Director for Miss Supranational and Miss Cosmo Japan, Aya Kiyota, said Indonesia was chosen as the first host location due to the dynamic development of its pageantry scene and its ability to provide positive experiences for participants.

“Indonesia was selected as our first choice because of the dynamic growth of pageantry in the country,” Aya Kiyota said.

The Crown of Japan Grand Final 2026 will be attended by nine Japanese finalists who have passed the selection process in Japan and will compete for the titles of Miss Supranational, Miss Cosmo, and Miss Crown Japan.
