RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to play a leading role in fostering solidarity across the Islamic world, positioning itself as a bridge in navigating global geopolitical shifts and shared challenges.

Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta underscored this stance during the seminar “Indonesia and Integration into the Islamic World: New Roadmap”, held in Cairo on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, through collaboration between the Indonesian Embassy in Egypt and the Al Hewar Center for Political and Media Studies.

“Indonesia, as the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation that is democratic, stable, and strategically autonomous, stands ready to build partnerships in addressing the challenges facing the Islamic world,” Deputy Minister Anis stated in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, February 6, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He highlighted that fragmentation within the Islamic world and declining trust in global governance demand solutions rooted in collective action, partnership, and strategic independence. 

For this reason, he called on Muslim nations to embrace a spirit of unity in confronting geopolitical turbulence and the weakening of international governance, stressing Indonesia’s readiness to contribute.

Anis further emphasized the relevance of Indonesian ideology Pancasila, offering its values as a guiding framework for the Islamic world amid a global transition marked by conflict, uncertainty, and systemic disruption. 

He reflected on Indonesia’s nation-building journey through Pancasila, which rests on principles of divinity, humanity, unity, deliberation, and social justice.

“This process has shaped Indonesia into a democratic, modern, and stable Muslim-majority country, capable of contributing at both regional and global levels,” he said.

The seminar drew positive responses from Egyptian academics and diplomatic practitioners, who noted Indonesia’s significant potential to strengthen Islamic world integration, with Egypt seen as a strategic partner for outreach across Africa and other Muslim-majority nations.

Participants also agreed on several recommendations, including enhancing cooperation among think tanks, expanding media collaboration, and promoting translation initiatives to advance positive narratives of Islam, Indonesia, and South-South cooperation. ***
