RRI.CO.ID, Birmingham – The Indonesian Ministry of Trade is facilitating Indonesian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) led by women to participate in the Spring Fair 2026 event. These nine Indonesian brands, owned by women who are their driving force, showcase fashion products, accessories, textiles, garments, and home décor.
This exhibition will take place from 1 to 4 February 2026 in Birmingham, England. Director General of National Export Development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, stated that Spring Fair 2026 is a strategic step to target buyers from the British retail sector.
Moreover, the exhibition has become an important momentum to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian women-owned MSMEs in the global market.
"Participation in the Spring Fair 2026 opens up opportunities for long-term business partnerships, particularly for targeting the retail market in the UK and Europe. This participation also opens up opportunities for trade transactions and strengthens the capacity of women-owned MSMEs to meet international market standards," Puntodewi stated.
Indonesia's participation in the Spring Fair 2026 is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Trade, the Indonesian Embassy in London, the International Trade Center (ITC) thru the SheTrades program, and is supported by national strategic partners. Puntodewi emphasized that this exhibition opens up concrete opportunities for Indonesian products to enter the British retail network, both large and independent retailers.
She also mentioned that the role of women-owned MSMEs is very significant in Indonesia's economic structure. More than 70 percent of MSMEs, which are the main drivers of the people's economy and the national creative economy sector, are managed by women.
"We hope that Indonesia's participation in more international exhibitions will further strengthen the contribution of MSME exports and increase the role of women-owned MSMEs as drivers of inclusive trade," Puntodewi conveyed.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the International Maritime Organization, Desra Percaya, emphasized the importance of cross-stakeholder collaboration in expanding global access for Indonesian women-owned MSMEs.
"The synergy between the government, international institutions, and strategic partners ensures that Indonesian women-owned MSMEs have wider access to grow and compete in the global market," he said.
Spring Fair 2026 is one of the largest retail trade shows in the UK, bringing together global brands with potential buyers. The show is attended by over 38,000 buyers and retail industry professionals, and features thousands of retail suppliers from various countries.
