RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia, called on Israel to uphold the Gaza ceasefire agreement on Sunday, February 1, 2026, following renewed air strikes that killed dozens of Palestinian civilians.

Indonesia formally urged Israel to comply with the Gaza ceasefire agreement after the latest air strikes on January 31. The appeal was delivered through an official Foreign Ministry statement condemning the attacks as violations of the October 2025 truce and a threat to civilian protection and regional stability.

In a statement posted on social media platform X on Sunday, the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry urged Israel, as a party to the ceasefire agreement, to honor its obligations and comply with the terms of the truce reached in October 2025.

“Indonesia calls on Israel, as a party to the ceasefire agreement, to fulfill its obligations and fully respect the agreement,” the ministry said, as quoted by Antara.

The ministry emphasized that unilateral violations of the ceasefire not only worsen the suffering of civilians in Gaza but also erode trust and directly obstruct efforts to achieve lasting stability and a sustainable political resolution.

Indonesia strongly condemns Israel’s repeated attacks in the Gaza Strip, including the latest strike on 31 January 2026, which targeted civilian areas and public facilities. Such actions constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement currently in force,” the ministry stated.

At least 37 Palestinians were killed and several others injured in a series of Israeli air strikes targeting multiple locations across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, January 31. The attacks reportedly struck shelters, displacement tents, a police office, and residential apartments.

Gaza’s Civil Defense confirmed that Israeli strikes since early Saturday morning had killed at least 32 Palestinians, including women and children.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, 2025, at least 509 Palestinians have been killed and 1,405 others injured as a result of Israeli attacks.

The ceasefire ended a two-year war that claimed nearly 71,800 Palestinian lives and injured more than 171,400 others. The conflict also devastated approximately 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, with the United Nations estimating reconstruction costs at around USD 70 billion. ***
