President Prabowo Attends ASEAN-ROK Meeting in Kuala Lumpur

KBRN, Kuala Lumpur: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto continued his diplomatic engagements at the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, October 27, 2025, where he is scheduled to attend the ASEAN-Republic of Korea (ASEAN-ROK) meeting alongside fellow ASEAN leaders.

“Hello, morning,” the President greeted members of the press with a smile. He appeared in a blue suit paired with a traditional peci cap.

The ASEAN-ROK meeting brings together ASEAN leaders and their counterparts from the Republic of Korea to discuss regional cooperation. President Prabowo was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno, and Foreign Minister Sugiono.

Prior to the meeting, Minister Airlangga briefly spoke with journalists but refrained from commenting on the substance of the upcoming discussions. “The preparations are well underway. As for the meeting itself, let’s wait and see,” Airlangga said.

Before attending the ASEAN-ROK session, the Indonesian delegation also participated in the ASEAN-Indo Pacific Forum (AIPF), which was attended by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Airlangga noted that the AIPF placed strong emphasis on tangible business initiatives. “It’s a project-by-project approach, focusing on prosperity, and not just in terms of profit, but also in improving community welfare,” he explained. (Naura Sofia/Sri Wahyuni)
